Fatherhood Initiative

Christian Heritage is honored to work with the National Fatherhood Initiative to improve the wellbeing of children by increasing the proportion of children growing up with involved, responsible and committed fathers.

We promote fatherhood via our annual Nebraska Father of the Year award in conjunction with the Celebration of Fatherhood luncheon the week before Father's Day.

As a result of a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families, a number of educational materials have been made available to us for distribution. A few of the materials available are:

24/7 Dad™ A.M. -- participant materials for a 12-session community-based fatherhood curriculum that offers two additional parenting sessions that include moms.
Daddy Pack™ -- skill-building brochures and interactive CD-ROM to help new expectant fathers build fathering skills.
Boyz 2 Dads™ -- video game to teach teenage boys that their choices matter.
Various printed materials, including: The 7 Benefits of Marriage for Men, 10 Ways to Be a Better Dad and 12 Questions to Ask before Becoming a Father.
